All our waste is collected and recycled. In 2019 we are banning plastic straws at the event and non-bio degradable glitter will also not be permitted.
We are also asking our Exhibitors to serve their food / drink in alternative packaging materials to single use plastic, where possible (i.e. paper, cardboard etc). In 2020 no plastic cutlery will be allowed.
All our hot drink providers will be using recyclable cups.
Our electrical team ensure that all our non-essential generators are switched off each night to reduce our emissions.
Our festival home is a working family farm and our team works very closely with the Howard family to ensure that the Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival leaves no trace at Funkirk Farm. We leave the farm as pristine as we find it. This means picking up every single bit of litter and clearing up all waste. We ask that our visitors, suppliers and Exhibitors do their bit to help us but using the bins provided and taking all your belongings home with you.
We have lots of water taps around the field where you can fill up your water bottles. Bottled water can be purchased from the main Timothy Taylor Bar.
The Skipton Food Bank will be collecting any surplus fruit, drinks, groceries, dairy and bakery products from any exhibitors and distributing them locally to those in need.
We encourage as many of our day visitors to use our free shuttle bus service which runs from Skipton Train Station and High Street every 30 minutes from 9am until 7pm each day.
