    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

UPDATED 08.10.2020 for Covid-19 related questions

Why has the Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink festival been postponed?

Due to the ongoing threat of Covid-19 and the Government restrictions around social distancing we are not permitted to hold our festival as it would be classed as a mass gathering which are currently banned in England. We are now planning for the 2021 festival.

What is the date of our 2021 festival?

The Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival 2021 will take place, as usual, on the first weekend of the school summer holidays, on the 23rd (camping arrivals), 24th & 25th July 2021.

I have tickets for the 2020 festival, what are my options?

All refund requests were to be made by 1st June 2020, we are unable to process any refunds after this date. Your tickets will automatically transfer to 2021 and the team will be in touch prior to the event.

What happens when I transfer my tickets to 2021?

Here are some benefits of keeping hold of your tickets and attending in 2021.

    • You will be supporting an independent, family owned and run festival in what is a very difficult time for our sector.
    • The tickets that you currently hold are cheaper than any that you could buy for the re-scheduled festival i.e. tickets for 2021 will cost more than your current tickets should you request a refund and re-purchase at a later date.
    • Each ticket order will receive a FREE copy of the Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival Cookbook (RRP £9.99) and a 20% discount code for our 2021 festival entrance tickets.

My tickets have been transferred to 2021, what do I need to do?

Firstly, a huge, huge thank you for supporting us in this way. COVID-19 has put businesses and individuals under a great deal of financial pressure, we really appreciate your continued support.

Regarding your tickets you don’t need to do anything. All ticket types will remain valid for our 2021 festival and we will reissue you with new tickets next year.

You will receive your free copy of the Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival cookbook at our 2021 festival and you may even be lucky enough to get it signed by our Celebrity Chefs!

Your 2022 discount code will be sent to you in 2021 (Exact date TBC)

Do I need to upgrade my kid’s tickets if, being a year older, they need a different child ticket type?

No. For existing ticket holders it is the age that your kids were at the time of the original July 2020 date that is important.

I have booked to stay with Village Belles Glamping in 2020, what happens with my booking?

The Yorkshire Dales Food Festival has now been postponed until July 2021. All bookings placed for the 2020 festival will now move over to the 2021 festival which will be held on the 23rd-25th July 2021, at no extra cost. We are sad to not be there this year, but it just means next year will be even better!

If you are wishing to join us but haven’t already booked for 2021, please do get in touch soon to secure a tent with us.

I have booked to stay in a hotel / B&B / Holiday Home for 2020, what happens with my booking?

We advise that you contact your Hotel / B&B / Holiday Home directly but they should be able to offer you the option to transfer your booking to 2021 or a refund.

I can’t make the 2021 festival, but I want to donate my tickets fee to the Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival Partners Charity.

Firstly, a huge, huge thank you for supporting our new charity. The COVID-19 has put businesses and individuals under a great deal of financial pressure, and our charity aims to support people and businesses in our sector.

Regarding your tickets you don’t need to do anything. We will cancel the tickets and transfer the funds to our charity account. We will keep you informed of how the collective charity monies are spent over the coming year. We will also be in touch to confirm your postal address so that we can send out your free copy of the Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival cookbook when it is published, and we will send you a discount code for 2022 festival entrance tickets in the summer of 2021.

We hope that you can join us for our virtual festival this summer and our charity auction!

I have requested a refund, when will I receive the funds?

All refunds have now been processed, you should have received your refund into the bank account that you used when booking your tickets. Please check with your bank if you are unsure of receiving these funds.

Why do I not get the booking fee refunded?

The bookings fees are paid to the ticketing company and not ourselves.

I have a Carers ticket for the Festival. How does the postponement affect me?

Your carers ticket remains valid providing that the tickets associated with the carers ticket order are not cancelled.

If you can’t find the answer to your question above, please email us at tickets@eventsbyb3.co.uk.

    Festival 2021

    What are the Opening Times?

The main Festival is open from 9am until 9.30pm on Saturday 24th July 2021 and 9am until 9.30pm on Sunday 25th July 2021. Please note that we close part of the festival field off from 6pm.

Those staying with us for the weekend are welcome to arrive from 12pm on Friday 23rd July 2021 and must be off site by 12pm on Monday 26th July 2021. You will be asked to select an allocated time slot for arrival on Friday 23rd July, this will be organised over the phone with the team after you have purchased your tickets.

Why do I need to allocate a time slot for arrival when staying with you?

To reduce the amount of people entering the site at one time we will be allocating time slots to stagger arrivals. This is due to the current government guidelines regarding social distancing. We want all our visitors to feel safe and be able to maintain a safe social distance from others.

What time is last entrance to the festival?

The latest entrance admission at the main gates is 5pm each day. Please be aware that we do not reduce the entrance ticket prices at any point during the day. The same fee applies regardless of what time you arrive.

What does the Ticket Price Include?

Please read the Ticket Type section carefully which accompanies each ticket type on the ticket system. If you have any specific queries, please contact our team.

Why is there a booking fee?

Running a ticket agency costs money – the costs of premises, IT, staff, communication, etc, have to be covered – and, in addition, agents provide a service to their customers which has value. Ticket agents are also commercial enterprises, which often have the interests of shareholders to consider. A fee, often calculated as a percentage of the price of each ticket, is therefore added by agents on top of a ticket’s face value to cover both their costs of sale and as a charge for the service provided.

I can’t find my tickets / they have not been emailed to me?

If you do not receive an email with your tickets following your purchase please check your SPAM mailbox as some service providers send unknown emails automatically to this folder. If you still can’t find them please go onto the ticket purchase section of our website and select ‘More Information’ on the top right side of the screen and select ‘Resend Me My Tickets’. If this does not work, please contact us directly on 0344 7766 777.

Can Tickets be purchased on the Days of the Festival?

Tickets sell fast and due to capacity restrictions at the Venue we only have a limited number. If we have any tickets remaining these will be available on the gates at an increased rate, usually £5 more than they are online in advance. Please note the prices change online too on these days but you can still buy Standard Entrance tickets online but Celebrity tickets can only be purchased on the Gates.

    Are Children free?

Children aged 7 or under are free to enter the Festival with an Adult who has purchased a Standard Entrance Ticket. For Health & Safety reasons we require a ratio of one adult to four (4) children 7 years old or under. Children seven (7) or under may attend the Celebrity Chef Sessions if they can sit quietly on an Adults Lap and not disturb other attendees. Please select a ticket for your under 7’s on the ticketing system. We take health and safety very seriously and we will be prepared with things like UK safety signage to ensure you have a fun and safe day out.

What is ‘A Celebrity Chef Cookery Demo’?

Sit back and enjoy an intimate cookery demonstration by our Celebrity Chefs. These ticket types are available on both event days.

Is Camping, Motorhomes & Caravanning available?

Yes, it is, please book your ticket on the booking page. Please note that spaces are to be allocated on arrival, so if you are wanting to be placed near somebody else we recommend you arrive together to accommodate this. YOU MUST PURCHASE A WEEKEND TICKET TO BE ABLE TO BOOK THIS TICKET TYPE.

The campsite opening times are from 12pm Friday 17th July – 12pm Monday 20th July.

Showers, toilets and hand wash sinks will be available on site. Our campsite is accessible via a solid road. For more information please visit our Camping & Caravanning Club Information Page.

    Are Electric Hook-Ups available?

There are a limited number of electric hook-up spaces. These are pre-bookable, so be sure to select the correct ticket on the ticket booking page. We do not accept any liability for any damage caused by the onsite electrical provision. Our campsite is accessible via a solid road. For more information please visit our Camping & Caravanning Club Information Page.

    Is Glamping available?

For more information please visit our Camping & Caravanning Club Information Page.

    Can I get a refund?

Refunds are not available nor do we permit the re-selling of tickets. Please see our Ticket Terms & Conditions on our Tickets Page for more information.

    Can dogs attend the Festival?

Of course! We just ask that they are kept on a short lead and waste bins will be available for your use. Dogs are also welcome in the camping / caravan fields.

Can I get Cash at the Festival?

Yes, there will be Cash Back facilities on site. Please note there is a small fee to cover the cost of this facility.

    Is there a Token System?

No, all products on site can be purchased with cash or cards, if the Exhibitor takes them.

    Is there a Picnic Area?

There are several seating areas around the Festival venue, these are clearly marked on the map. Please note that only food and drink purchased at the Festival may be consumed in these areas. You are also welcome to bring your own chairs into the event field.

    Is there Disabled Access?

Our Festival Home is a grassy field, so may therefore be challenging for wheelchair users, due to the nature of the venue. We do have dedicated Disabled Parking (for Blue Badge Holders) which is located nearer to the entrances, our Traffic Management Team will direct you.

Please notify us if you intend to purchase a Celebrity Chef Ticket as we will need to allocate a Disabled (Wheelchair) Space. Please note these are limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

There are dedicated Disabled Toilets which are shown on the festival layout map inside the Event Guide, which you will receive on arrival.

If you have any questions or need any help during the Festival please speak to one of our Team.

    Is there a BSL Interpreter?

Our festival family strives to include everyone, we also have a BSL Interpreter in two of our Celebrity Chef Demonstration sessions (this is the 2pm Celebrity session on each day), plus we offer a large print event map and schedule. Please get in touch if you would like to request one of these. If you need any help on the event days please speak to our lovely team in the Big Red Information Hub.

Are Carers allowed Free Admission into the Festival?

To ensure that the festival is available to all we offer disabled ticket holders, subject to availability, a free ticket for a Carer. This offer is open to those who hold a current higher rate of DLA, or other UK government approved supporting evidence of their requirement for a Carer. Carer tickets can only be issued against a standard adult entrance ticket.

Please note that this offer is only available to those people that would be unable to attend the festival without a full-time assistance. Every application is assessed on an individual basis and if anyone is found to be making a fraudulent application, we reserve the right to cancel both the original ticket and the carer ticket, before and during the event.

To apply for a carer ticket please email us at ydfadfestival@eventsbyb3.co.uk with proof of a standard ticket purchase (e-ticket email) and a copy of your letter of award for the DLA (or equivalent). These must be received by the 1st July 2020. These are not available on the day.

Please note that Celebrity Chef Tickets and Weekend Tickets are not part of this offer. To be accompanied for a Celebrity Chef session the Carer will also require a ticket.

Is there Food for Vegetarians, Vegans or Gluten Free?

Yes, several of our Exhibitors offer a range of Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten Free Food. This is highlighted in our event magazine.

Can I attend the Festival if I have a Food Allergy?

All our Exhibitor’s make every attempt to identify ingredients that may cause the most common allergic reactions, however, there is always a risk of cross contamination and those with allergies should be aware of this. Please check with an Exhibitor and they will be able to advise.
